Properties of blue back paper

As the name suggests, this poster paper has a characteristic blue back. The sturdy texture makes the paper ideal for outdoor poster advertising. Posters made of blue back paper can be glued on rigid foam boards or pasted directly on advertising pillars and other areas.

Blue back paper: The material for posters

The surface of the lightweight paper has a slightly coarse feel to it. The coated front yields a crisp and high-quality print result. The material texture makes water drops roll off the paper surface and other liquids, too, can be wiped off easily. The blue back of the paper is uncoated for efficient glue adhesion. The blue back prevents show-through from previous posters.

Tips on choosing blue back paper

For which products is blue back paper suitable?

Blue back paper is particularly well suited for outdoor poster advertising pasted to surfaces such as pillars or other areas. We recommend backlit film for backlit posters used in lightboxes (City-light posters), e.g. at bus stops or in city centres.

Blue back paper or art print paper – which stock is the better choice for posters?

Due to its properties, we recommend blue back paper especially for glued/pasted outdoor advertising applications. For indoor posters, e.g. shop window advertising or office decoration, art print paper is the first choice.

What's the difference between weather-proof board and blue back paper?

Both paper stocks are suitable for outdoor advertising. However, weather-proof board and blue back paper have different material properties. Blue back paper only repels water, whereas weather-proof board does not absorb any water for some time. The blue reverse is ideal for wet gluing and prevents show-through from previous posters. Heavier weather-proof board is ideal to mount advertising posters to trees and street lamps in a durable manner.
